So, I've been sleeping on the couch ever since my surgery. I don't know what happened, but my horribly crappy mattess became even more horrible and more crappy. I think the surgery tweaked something in my back, but whatever happened - I can't sleep on our bed anymore without having terrible back spasms. We ordered a new mattress last weekend, and it's supposed to arrive this week. But until then, I'm sleeping on the hard as a rock couch in the living room.
Anyways, point being...I posted a blog on here a few weeks ago about how I really would love a fireplace in the bedroom so I could fall asleep with a fire. Yesterday we had a fire going, and it was completely out when I went to bed (couch). But, right when I turned the lights off...the fire POOFED back up and started going again. It was really neat. So, in a way, I had a make-shift bedroom with a fireplace :) If only I wasn't completely blind when I take my glasses off to sleep!
It's finally gotten a little chilly here in Memphis (read: below 40 at night, which is NOT that chilly to someone from Iowa). But good enough to break out the Uggs! I must say, as uggly as they are, I really love wearing Uggs with a dress or skirt in the winter. They keep your feet super warm and soft, and they are extremely comfortable to wear all day (as opposed to most leather boots with heels).
And, I received one box of my J. Crew items in the mail. I gotta say - it's frustrating when a clothing company makes clothes that seem to be completely sized wrong. It all fit, don't get me wrong. But I seriously wear like, buffalo size in their pants/skirts, yet I'm an XS in most of their shirts. I get that some shirts fit tighter or looser, but still. Anyways, this notecard came with the order, which I was not aware of and found interesting:
If you can't read it, it says that teachers receive 15% off all orders, all the time. Same with students. Just have to show a valid school ID. Now...how do they know if it's valid? I could break out some super old ID's from Iowa and Memphis. :) But I think that is a really good deal, because we all know that teachers get paid about 300% less than they should, so they definitely deserve a break.

I have been wanting to get some Uggs for a while now...
Is Homeless World a joke?
It is -3 degrees right now :) in Anchorage.....
Isnt that pretty awesome about JCrew? I live an hour away from one but I am sure to bust out my ID when shopping (even though its old)!
Thanks for the comment on my new layout!
and I am rocking UGGS when/where ever I can - I dont care how ugly or uncool some say they are!
I have a similar problem at Old Navy, where I rarely shop anymore. Depending on the item and fit, I need anywhere from a 12 to an 18!!!!! (which I NEVER buy because I am NOT an 18 dammit!) But when I go to Banana Republic, I wear a 14 or a large consistently! Drives me nuts! Why can't they all make clothing in the same sizes?
i hate sizing problems too. i'm very petite so it's hard to find things that fit everywhere, especially when sometimes the smallest size available fits like it's 4 sizes too big. infuriating :(
I need a good pair of uggs
Love the uggs! So cute! And thanks for the suggestions for dealing with bums :-)
omg so funny! I break out my uggs once it hits 75! lol.
Old Navy is the worst when it comes to sizing. Back when I was super skinny, I fit into their jeans. Now that I have some cushion on my rear and hips...I'm practically off the charts with their pants. I think they really tailor them to teens.
And yes, Homeless World is real! I't been there for years...I'm not sure what it is, I assume some sort of charity for the homeless, however I never see "homeless" standing outside or anything, so I'm not sure what goes on in there. One day, I will find out :)
Love the pics! I haven't bought J. Crew in awhile but I remember I wore crazy sizes with them.....
Haha - too funny - homeless world! Love your blog!
